STRUCTURAMA – From Italy to the world.

Structurama’s journey began with a simple yet ambitious idea: integrating design, technology, and construction know-how to redefine how buildings are conceived and realized.
In this interview, our Founder & CEO Fulvio Beretta shares how innovation, people, and precast technology continue to shape Structurama’s global vision.

Interview with Fulvio Beretta

(Founder & CEO, Structurama)

1. Structurama has been active for over 25 years. How would you describe the company’s journey from its beginnings to today’s global presence?

Fulvio: Structurama was founded in 2005, after I had gained solid experience as Technical Director in one of Italy’s largest precast companies. From day one, our vision has been to create a truly integrated approach by bringing together architecture, structural and MEP engineering, and advanced technology, combined with a deep, hands-on understanding of precast systems and their construction processes.

This integration of multidisciplinary design with technological and process knowledge is what makes Structurama unique. We are not only designers; we are also technologists who understand how ideas become reality. This dual perspective allows us to bridge creativity and constructability in a way few others can.

Over the years, we’ve evolved from a small Italian consultancy into an international partner with projects spanning multiple continents. What makes me proud is that, throughout this journey, our core values: innovation, collaboration, and commitment to quality, have remained unchanged. Our growth has always been driven by people and by the trust our clients place in us.

2. Structurama is known for its integrated design and deep expertise in precast technology. What does “integrated project design” mean to you?

Fulvio: Integration is the essence of our philosophy. We don’t see architecture, structure, and MEP as separate disciplines, but as interconnected components of a single, intelligent system. What truly sets us apart, however, is how we extend this integration beyond design into the technological and process knowledge that drives the creation of new precast factories.

Through BIM and our deep expertise in precast technology, we connect the design phase with the realities of production and construction. This means not only designing buildings, but also transferring know-how, optimizing workflows, and helping our partners develop efficient, technology-driven precast facilities.

In the end, integration for us means aligning design, process, and technology to turn complexity into clarity, and that’s what our clients value most.

3. Precast construction has become a defining feature of Structurama’s expertise. Why do you believe this method is the future of building?

Fulvio: Precast is not just about efficiency, it’s about rethinking construction entirely. By moving much of the work offsite, we can guarantee quality, improve safety, and drastically reduce environmental impact. Every element is designed, produced, and assembled with precision. Combined with digital tools and automation, precast technology offers flexibility, speed, and sustainability which are all essential in today’s construction landscape.

4. BIM and digital transformation are central to Structurama’s work. How are these technologies changing the construction industry?

Fulvio: BIM is more than a 3D model. It’s the intelligence behind every project. It allows us to simulate, plan, and optimize before construction begins. Through Structurama Digital, we’re now integrating BIM with ERP systems, linking design directly to production and logistics.

This creates a seamless workflow where information flows across departments, improving collaboration and decision-making. Digitalization is not the future – it’s the present, and it’s transforming how we build.

5. Sustainability and energy efficiency are part of your mission. How does Structurama apply these principles in practice?

Fulvio: For us, sustainability goes beyond materials, for us it’s a mindset. Every project starts with an analysis of how to minimize energy use, optimize resources, and extend the building’s lifecycle. Our structural solutions and requalification projects aim to enhance performance while reducing CO₂ emissions.

It’s our responsibility to design not just for today, but for generations to come.

6. Structurama operates worldwide, from Europe to the Middle East and the Americas. How do you balance Italian engineering roots with the needs of diverse local markets?

Fulvio: Our Italian heritage gives us a unique sensitivity to design and detail. But global success requires listening and understanding local regulations, climates, cultures, as well as construction habits. We always adapt our systems to the local context while maintaining our quality and methodology.

This balance between global knowledge and local insight is what makes Structurama’s approach truly international.

7. You’ve recently launched Structurama Campus. What inspired this initiative?

Fulvio: Structurama Campus was born from the belief that innovation starts with people. The construction industry is evolving fast through digitalization, automation, and sustainability, and we want our team, partners, and clients to evolve with it.

The Campus offers tailored training, workshops, and digital courses to develop new skills in precast and integrated design. It’s our way of investing in knowledge and shaping the next generation of engineering professionals.

8. Looking ahead, what is your vision for Structurama in the next decade?

Fulvio: Our goal is to continue growing as a global leader in integrated project design and precast innovation. But beyond that, I see Structurama as a community, as a network of professionals driven by shared values: innovation, empathy, and sustainability.

We don’t just design buildings; we design systems that improve how people live and work. The future of construction will be smarter, more connected, and more responsible, and Structurama will be part of building that future.

Final Quote

“Innovation never stops. At Structurama, we don’t just build structures, we build change.”
